Who owes us money?
“Which customers have overdue invoices?”
“Show me the five largest balances.”
“Which invoices make up that amount?”
Zeno connects Claude or ChatGPT to your QuickBooks Online company. You ask what is going on and get the answer with the invoices behind it. The person who keeps your books can ask the AI to prepare bills, match receipts and code card charges, then review the entries before posting.
You do not need to know which report to open. Ask in plain words, look at the transactions behind the number, and ask the next question.
“Which customers have overdue invoices?”
“Show me the five largest balances.”
“Which invoices make up that amount?”
“Compare this month’s expenses with last month.”
“Show me the transactions behind the increase.”
“Which unpaid bills are due this week?”
“Group them by vendor.”
Answers come from what is in QuickBooks. If the books are a month behind, so is the answer. When a question needs your bookkeeper, leave it for them from the same chat. It waits in Zeno until they are back, and the reply is there the next time you ask.
In-house, part-time or outsourced: if you are the one who closes this company’s month, this is what changes.
“Code September’s Home Depot charges to Repairs, class Willow. Hold anything over $500 and show me what is left.” The AI codes the run, links the ones already in the books, pairs the transfers, and brings you the rest.
Forward receipts to the company’s inbox address, or point the AI at a folder. It matches them to the charges, shows you the pairs it is unsure of, and attaches each approved receipt in QuickBooks.
Save a coding decision as a rule for matching charges. Zeno shows you exactly which lines the rule would catch before you confirm it. Next month those lines arrive already coded.
“Enter the bills in the inbox. Hold any whose terms disagree with what we have on file.” Vendors, accounts and due dates are checked against live QuickBooks before you see the plan.
Pick a set of transactions by date, name or account and recode, redate or void them as one plan. Zeno checks for relevant changes to the books before applying the corrections you approved.
The owner asks their own AI what they owe and who owes them. What needs your judgment waits in Zeno as a question, and you can answer it or approve a reply the AI drafted.
The queue, the inbox, the review page and the rules are documented page by page: read the documentation →

Authorize your QuickBooks Online company through Intuit. It stays the ledger.
Add a few coding rules and company notes, then confirm more as you work.
The AI prepares the month. You read it, approve it, and Zeno posts it with a record you can open later.
The things that normally live in one person’s head, an old email thread, or a sticky note on the monitor are kept beside the company where the AI can use them.
Which account, which class, how it splits, and the exception someone confirmed.
The lease terms, which card is whose, the customer who always pays late, the policy on meals.
The order things happen, what to check, and what to hold for the owner.
What was asked for, prepared, approved, posted, reversed and left open. Useful when someone new takes over.
Yes. Business is for one company and everyone who works on it, including an outside bookkeeper the owner invites. If you keep books for several unrelated clients, Zeno for Firms gives each client its own rules, inbox and history and shows you all of them in one queue.
Yes. Your workspace administrator can give you view-only access. You can ask about the records available to your role without permission to change the books. Your AI cannot switch that on from its side.
A QuickBooks Online company, permission to connect it through Intuit, and a Claude or ChatGPT plan that supports custom connectors. If an accounting firm already manages your company in Zeno, ask them for access rather than creating a second workspace.
Zeno for QuickBooks Desktop runs on your Windows PC beside the company file. The Business subscription on this page is for QuickBooks Online.
No. It does the repetitive part of their month and answers your routine questions. Judgment about missing information, accounting treatment and the business behind the numbers is still theirs.
Add up to two related QuickBooks Online companies under common ownership for $39 each per month. Past three, or for outside clients, Zeno for Firms is the right edition.
